Handwritten Notes

I love to receive a handwritten note in the mail.
Yes, email is much more convenient...but receiving a note in the mail is more personal.
You know the sender was thinking of you during their day!

Here are some lovely note options from Winged Wheel.
They are limited editions and available only until December 9th.

Ornament of the Day 1

Can you believe it is December 1st? Crazy, huh?
With the countdown to Christmas, I will be posting an Ornament of the Day (idea I took from A Piece of Toast).
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE Christmas!!

Carter received this owl ornament for her birthday from Marmi and Pop!
It was perfect for her owl birthday party!

Every year growing up, December 1st was a BIG day in our home...we brought out the "mouse" advent calendar. It was a big deal every morning to transfer the mouse from one pocket to the next. Some mornings the mouse would be missing and reappear at night...courtesy of my dad!

Of course, I haven't been able to find the mouse advent calendar yet...the move has wreaked havoc on my organization (mentioned in below post!).

Junk Drawer Organizer

I know most people usually have at least one junk drawer in their place...we have SEVERAL!
Since the move, things still have not found their "appropriate" place.

While I was visiting A Piece of Toast via Scout, I ran across these.
Oh, how much I could use one (or more!) of these organizers.

Our Thanksgiving Day!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
We were blessed to spend this yummy holiday with our great friends, the Warrens, and their fabulous family. Since moving to Orlando (six years ago), they have adopted us on holidays when we are not able to get home...Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother's Day!

We always have a blast with them and this Thanksgiving was no exception. They have a 15 month old little boy (adorable!). You might not know this but Carter loves to give HUGS. She loves it a bit too much sometimes...there might be an occasional little push as she's detaching from the other person. I'm not sure where she learned that one! Anyways, she gave Tate quite a few hugs this Thanksgiving. I love his looks after the "Carter" hugs.

On Thanksgiving morning, I made a few dishes to take over to our feast!

1. Pumpkin Whoopie Pies - recipe here
2. Baked Brie with Raspberry Perserves - no recipe needed!
3. Sweet Potato Casserole (not pictured) - recipe here (add marshmallows!)

Here she goes again...
