The Coolest Party Ever...

I wish I was invited to this Art Party. Would it be weird if I invited my girlfriends over and recreated this party...even with the face painting??? One Charming Party is the star behind this party. This one is definitely going into the "folder" for party ideas for Miss Carter. She is still a little too young right now but in a few more years...

check out the invitations and thank-you notes!

the "too adorable to eat" cake

Seriously, who would not love this party???

Paper Mondays

We all know Martha Stewart gets all giddy over Halloween. Check out her new line of products. I love me a good candy display...so the treat bags are my favorite. Also, the bottle labels would be a hit at any party.

Puppet Theater

Isn't this DIY Puppet Theater adorable? What kid (and parent) doesn't like a good puppet show? I ran across this on dandee. You could use any fabric any color. This would be a perfect treat for your little ones on an upcoming Winter afternoon.
You definitely need to snag these hand puppets for your show.

Paper Mondays

Rocky Top, you'll always be Home Sweet Home to me! I can think of about ten places in my house that this print should go. 1canoe2 is the mastermind behind these letterpress and block prints. I love the vibrant colors they use. Check out their website...their prices are really good!

Owls to Aprons

We have been busy planning Carter's second birthday party. We are using a "Pink Owl" theme. I think owls are adorable and my daughter loves pink! When I started the hunt for party supplies, I was getting a little discouraged because what I had envisioned I could not find! But I trudged on with the "super mom" mentality - I have this theme and I am going to make it work! Somewhere the page turned and I uncovered tons of owl options! They are some very talented people out there!

My mom (Dede) was here this past weekend. Of course, she came in town to visit Carter but I put her to work! I had lots on the list to accomplish before Carter's birthday and we did great...My mom's a hard worker!

We worked on these pretties. I got the idea from here. I think they turned out adorable.

A little wreath action...tutorial found here!

Dede made these adorable owls!

Even though we were busying with party decor, Dede made time to make this fabulous apron for dear Miss Carter. Carter may be getting a kitchen for her birthday...shhh don't tell her - it's a surprise!

We always have a great visit when Dede comes in town...but with Carter getting older it is sweet to see her interact with her Dede. She woke up the next morning after my mom left asking for her Dede. It broke my heart to remind her that Dede had to go back home to be with Papa. I just wish Carter lived close to all of her grandparents. Maybe one day...

Our week in Pictures

On Monday, we went to lunch with Dede before we took her to the airport.
Carter REALLY enjoyed her honeydew melon.

Carter found Daddy's bow tie...at least she found one that matched her outfit!

We are really loving stickers now...so she decided Copper must love them too!
(notice the DVDs...this is another favorite thing to do - pull them all out!)

Several weeks ago, I introduced Carter to the "car-cart" at the grocery store. Unfortunately now, we must get the car-cart every time we go to the store. So, yes - even if we are just getting milk - we have the BIG car-cart. Wednesday, we had another new grocery store find for Carter - the FREE Publix cookie for kids. I decided Carter had been really good that day - and by this I mean Mommy had been really good! Carter did get a couple of bites...she loved the sprinkles.

We FINALLY bought annual passes to SeaWorld. Thursday, we had our first date with Shamu!
She loved Shamu from afar...but up close she got a little stage fright. We had a great day and excited to go back...as many times as we want!

Tonight, we had a casual "play night" with Carter. She loves it when we pretend like we are going "night-night". She kept showing her belly so we could tickle her. Her laugh was too sweet!

Carter's First Birthday...

While I have been busy getting the details together for Carter's birthday. I thought I would share pictures from her first birthday. I did not have the blog then...so these are first time around. Our theme was pink, orange and polka-dots!
