Getting ready for Fall

It's no secret that I love burlap...especially painted burlap.

I love decorating the front door with a themed painted burlap door hanger.

I had one that I loved (honestly, I think I have already posted about it), but in the move it was damaged.

I found the cutest place with endless choices...and the best thing - it is here in Memphis.

Check out her fall options plus other holidays and sport- themed ones.

It's a GO for gymnastics!

Tonight, Meg and I spent our evening at Sega Gymnastics.
Carter and Brooke started taking classes this month. They are "crickets" now.

Carter had been taking ballet for the past year however she needed something with a little more activity. And let's be honest...she was probably taking ballet more for me. Carter loved the outfit (tutu, tights,  and shoes) a lot more than the actual ballet part. She did love to spin...which is pretty much all she did. It did provide a few laughs at the recital.

Now enter gymnastics...which she LOVES! After the first class, she asked to go back - which I knew must have been a hit because she never asked to go back to ballet.

Carter has always been an "active" child. And by active, I mean she never stops. From the minute she opens her eyes, she is on the go! Mommy is just trying to keep up!

Gymnastics still provides a few laughs for us!

St. Louis + American Girl

This past July, Carter had her first experience with American Girl.
She had never been too interested in babies/dolls before this trip. So I was curious to see how she would do in the store. Memphis does not have one so we visited the St. Louis store when we were there seeing family.

I do believe she has caught the "American Girl" bug.

We all had lunch in the Bistro.

Ok, she here is where it gets crazy!
At first, Carter wanted the "Bitty Baby"...it has adorable (non-stringy) red hair...which had my vote!
As you could see from the pictures, she was in love...

...until she met the BIG American Girl doll and it was all over. So, the people at the American Girl store was super sweet and we did a little switch-a-roo.

The whole experience was exhausting...in a good way!
However, it is funny because now we cannot leave the house without carrying a baby or doll with us.

Best friends! These two girls had a blast together!

Fabulous Kid Finds

When you have kids, you obviously are in search every year for the best birthday present for them.
However if you are like me, you forget about the 20+ birthday parties that your child will attend each year. Here are a few ideas that I thought the kids (mine and her friends) would like.

Now Thats Nifty

Are these not the cutest things you have seen? Love this company!

The Peabody Ducks

This summer, Meg and I took the girls to the Peabody Hotel to visit the ducks.
If you have never been, you should...it is a really neat experience. Every day at 11:00am, they bring the ducks down on the elevator and walk them on a red carpet into the fountain. At 5:00pm, they walk them back the same way. We were there for the evening "viewing" so we could take the girls to dinner.

Notice Carter's face...it's a new thing we do for pictures...ugh!

A little better...
